Private Mobile Networks (PMN) provide Fixed Mobile Integration (FMI) solutions to established businesses. For a new start-up or small business, a private mobile network can provide a solution for telephony application deployment on mobile phones as an alternative to deploying a PBX.
Key Business Benefits
- Key enabler for fixed mobile integration, single device for desk and mobile phone
- Reduces mobile and infrastructure costs, uses single standard mobile device for all communications.
- Flexible deployment model – integrate with existing infrastructure or as a stand-alone replacement for a traditional PBX.
- Flexibility and mobility for employees
The PMN solution is ideal for warehouses, temporary construction sites, campus telephony, and MoD to name a few. It also offers an effective alternative to Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) and Private Mobile Radio (PMR) installations.

Standard GSM mobile phone handsets are used to connect users together on a secure, private network without incurring any mobile phone call charges. Voice quality is high, as expected, on an industry standard-based GSM network, and support for SMS and GPRS is available.
Using one or more base stations strategically placed to ensure full network coverage, PMN registered mobile handsets are able to communicate with each other in a localised GSM ‘island’. Through an additional connection to a local PBX infrastructure or a PSTN gateway, the handsets can also communicate with internal PBX extensions and the outside world. The mobile handset automatically transitions from the macro mobile network to office network when in range. Pre-packaged 25 and 50 mobile user solutions are available.
